July is shaping up to be an exciting month packed with competitions, masterclasses, and major international events, all dedicated to promoting and preserving the tradition of True Neapolitan Pizza around the world.
The busy schedule begins on Friday, July 3, in Naples. Starting at 10:00 a.m., AVPN Headquarters will host the eagerly awaited qualifying round of the Vera Pizza Napoletana Champion – Amateur Division.
Shortly afterwards, the Association will head overseas for an important stop in Canada, at the AVPN School in Montréal. On Monday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., the school will host the masterclass "The Secrets of True Neapolitan Pizza," an in-depth training session designed to share the techniques and traditions behind authentic Neapolitan pizza ahead of the following day's events.
On Tuesday, July 7, activities will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the local qualifying round of the Vera Pizza Napoletana Champion, judged by an outstanding panel including Paolo Surace, Peppe Miele, Mirko D'Agata, Dareen El Akkad,and Jeremy Hube. Later that afternoon, at 2:00 p.m., pizza enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the "Neapolitan Pizza Maker for a Day" amateur course, celebrating the craft and traditions of the Neapolitan pizzaiolo.
Also on July 7, attention will turn to Rome, where two important events will take place at Officine Farneto. The day will begin with the institutional conference "Pizzaiolo: A Profession Worth Protecting," featuring remarks by Antonio Paceand moderated by Selena Vacca, Legislative Advisor to the Italian Senate. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., the Roman qualifying round of the Vera Pizza Napoletana Champion will follow, with Corrado Scaglione, Alberto Lento, and Giuliano Bucci serving on the judging panel.
Midway through the month, the spotlight will shift to Asia. From July 15 to 17, AVPN will participate in SIGEP Asia in Singapore. Visitors to Stand D33 will enjoy live demonstrations, masterclasses, and guided tastings led by AVPN members Matteo Minante of Pocofino Pizzeria and Dih Yang Yee of Dihyang Pizzeria, supported by the AVPN team and key industry partners.
The month will conclude with AVPN's participation in the European Universities Games (Salerno EUG2026). On July 23 and 24, in Fisciano, the Association will host special show cooking sessions and tastings within the vibrant Fan Zone of the Games. On the evening of Thursday, July 23 (from 8:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.), an English-language masterclass with tasting will introduce participants to the art of True Neapolitan Pizza. The following evening, Friday, July 24, the programme will focus on guided tastings and a celebration of the craftsmanship and tradition of the Neapolitan pizzaiolo.
